Why would anyone want to enter this world? There are just so many things that can go wrong and this is one area of photography that cannot be reshot without redoing the whole event which is impossible. You need nerves of steel and the patience of Job.

Now if you have considered all the pitfalls and weighed the pros and cons and have decided that you are one of the chosen few and can stand the pressure, here are some pointers that will get you to the top of your game.

1. Learn digital photography

This may sound simple and quite broad. If you aren't an accomplished photographer then learn photography and acquire the skills that you need to shoot great photos. If you are an accomplished film photographer learn all you can about digital photography.

You need to function as a digital photographer knowing each of the skills necessary to make you successful. For example, know the limitations and benefits of shooting with digital and what can be improved or rescued in the digital darkroom.

You will make mistakes and there will be unforseen problems and you need to know what can be done before you have a heart attack and call the bride with bad news. At my own wedding half the photos were lost because of film problems. A fair amount would've been rescued if it had been digital.

2. Learn the basics of wedding photogrpahy

There are two routes to go with this point. Firstly, the self taught route. Buy wedding magazines and books on wedding photography and study them religiously. Get to know the types of shot people like and the scenes they prefer.

Great ideas come from wedding magazines. If you want to cheat a little go to a wedding photographer and ask to see their work or look at it on the walls of their studio or shop.

The second route is more difficult. Offer your services to a wedding photographer as an assistant. Once you are a wedding photographer you'll realise how invaluable and assistant can be.

Here you'll learn many tricks and techniques and will pick up tips that you won't read about in books. The key here again is to learn wedding photography on the job.

3. Plan and practise

More preparation than any other area of photography needs to go into a wedding shoot and planning is essential. Your biggest hurdle is the transition from other genres of photography to wedding photography.

When you actually do the shoot you should know every scene, lighting condition, location and sequence of shots.

Some photographers go as far as preparing a shot sheet, a sketch of every shot at every location, so that they know one shot after the other and what is coming up next.

Each camera setting is noted next to the shot. Maybe a bit overkill to some but the risk of failure is greatly reduced.

4. Dive into the deep end

Offer your services free to friends and family for all kinds of occasions as an unofficial photographer. If you're brave enough offer to do a wedding or ask permission to take photos in addition to the photographer they have engaged.

Get the main photographer's permission and don't get in the way. What the experience will do is allow you to learn the best exposures, lighting conditions and using a flash on a regular basis. Nothing helps better than experience and this helps you with the transition to bigger things.

Wedding photography can be a really profitable business if your nerves can take the pressure. It is a very competitive form of photography and many offer cut throat prices.

Don't aim at just average but rather work at acquiring unique skills that will set you apart from the others. The final product should be the deciding factor and not the person's wallet.

The bottom line with any type of photography is learning the skills and developing your abilities as a photographer. Learn more about photography and continue adding to your skills basket in becoming an accomplished wedding photographer.

Do you want to learn more about photography in a digital world? But, equipment was really the last thing that should have been on my list besides a camera of reasonable quality. What I really needed was to learn the fundamentals of photography. Good photographers take good pictures not cameras.

The first thing that any budding photographer needs to learn are the fundamentals of photography starting with the basics. Get these under your belt quickly and you have already won half the battle. So, what needs to happen to get you going as a beginner with your first digital camera? Let's take a look at my top seven.

1. Equipment

It's not all about equipment. Don't go rushing out to buy expensive equipment without knowing what you need. A keen sales person will sell you as far as your wallet or credit card will take you. Wait until you know what you need and what you like and match these desires with the right equipment.

2. Decide on the type of shots you'd like to shoot

A good idea is to browse the internet photo galleries, look in magazines or visit your local library to get an idea of what type of photo you really like. Try it out with your camera and see if you are able to, or, want to persevere until you can.

Once you've made a list plan to go out and shoot on a regular basis. It's practise that makes perfect. Stick to it until you master your genre. Only then start looking for the equipment to match your area of interest.

3. Decide on a structured learning plan

Find out what you'd like to learn and what you need to learn in order to shoot the type of photos that interest you. For example, macro and nature photography is a more specialised art form and there are a number of techniques and skills to learn, as well as equipment you'll need to buy. Research it on the internet, read books and if possible take a course on macro or close up photography.

4. Take photos often

If you are not regularly shooting images you are not going to grow in your skills and abilities. Set yourself assignments based on what you are studying. Of course, in a structured course you will be given assignments.

A photo a day keeps the creativity flowing and helps you to keep motivated. I did an assignment once taking a 100 photos of the same subject from a host of different angles. It gave my photography an unexpected boost.

5. Learn your camera's settings

Getting to know your camera is paramount if you want to learn to take great photos and the best way to do this is by reading your manual. Like I should be telling you this. I am the last one who reads a manual.

But, if you do it in a structured way you'll be amazed at how quickly you get to know your camera. The way I did it was to go through the manual highlighting everything I already knew about it.

Then I went back through the manual reading up on each section I didn't know, practising as I went along. Once I got to know it I was amazed at how much more I could do with my camera. The key is to experiment.

6. Keep your camera with you

Take every opportunity to get a great shot. Whenever you see something that would make a great photo, shoot it. I have often wished that I had taken my camera with me and got an amazing shot. If you don't have it with you, you won't get the shot

7. Buy a tripod

Besides my camera, my tripod is the most important piece of kit in my equipment bag. There are shots you can only get if your camera is steady. The sharpness of your shots will improve dramatically. If the pros use them then why not the amateurs?

As you begin your photography journey, work at learning in a structured way so that the fundamentals of photography become second nature. Photography should be fun but your learning process needs to be serious. Happy shooting!

Do you want to learn more about photography in a digital world? I've just completed a brand new e-course delivered by e-mail. This is a great way to evaluate the course material. It's pointless learning the fundamentals of photography without actually putting it into practise. This series of articles aims to do just that.

The amount of light that reaches the camera's digital sensor is not only controlled by the aperture of the lens but also by the shutter. The speed of the shutter ranges from 1 second all the way up to 1/4000th of a second or higher.

Shutters are calibrated in such a way that each setting is half or twice the speed of the setting next to it so that the difference is equal to one f-stop of aperture.

The shutter speed is used to control the amount of movement of a subject reflected by how blurred or how sharp the image is. This is all well and good but in order for you to really get to understand how shutter speed works you need to get into action and shoot photos while changing the various settings.

So on with the project. For this first part of the project ask a friend to help you as the subject. Get them to walk briskly past you, so that they fit in the frame, at a normal walking speed.

1. For your first shot set the shutter speed to 1/15th of a second. Make sure that you are holding the camera steady or have it mounted on a tripod if you have one. Shoot the image a few times.

Download the image to your PC and what do you see? You should see a slightly blurred image.

2. For your second shot change the shutter speed to 1/60th or 1/100th of a second. Again make sure that the camera is being held steady or on a tripod. Take the photo a few times at both shutter speeds and then download the image to your PC.

What do you see? You should see a fairly clear image, maybe lacking a little detail, but with the arms and legs slightly blurred.

3. For your third photo series set the shutter speed to 1/250th of a second or higher.

Take the photo a few times and then download the image to your PC. Quite different from the first shots you took? There should now be no blur whatsoever.

By shooting on the higher shutter speeds the camera freezes the image and your subject should be pin sharp and their motion frozen in midstep.

You can now see that by varying your shutter speeds you are able to create different effects in the image. A photo that is frozen in time is not always better than one that is slightly blurred conveying motion.

Using shutter speed correctly allows you to be more creative with parts of the image blurred and parts sharp and well defined.

Let's get on to the second part of the project. This time you need to find a location where vehicles are going past at the speed limit in a residential area. Again the whole subject should be visible in the frame.

Try to shoot against a fairly plain background. I want you place you feet apart so that you are firmly anchored with minimum sway as you stand. Bring you camera to you eye and lock your arms to the side of your chest.

Hopefully you are now a human tripod. I want you keep your feet firmly anchored to the ground while moving at the waist from left to right or vice versa.

This is called panning. What you need to do is to turn to the left moving only at the waist and then track or follow your subject as it comes past you to your right. Your action should be fluid.

As the vehicle reaches the position directly in front of you press the shutter button gently but continue tracking the vehicle as it disappears to your right. The whole action from left to right should be one fluid movement.

1. For your first shot set your shutter speed to 1/30th of a second and pan as the vehicle passes you and take the shot directly in front of you.

View it on your PC and what do you see? The car should be blurred. This shutter speed is too slow. It gives the appearance of speed and is still a very effective image.

2. The second shot should be taken at 1/100th of a second. In this image you should see the vehicle reasonably sharp against a blurred background. You are starting to get a great image giving a good impression of speed.

3. In your third image or series of images set the shutter speed to 1/250th of a second and take the shot.

The car should be frozen with even the wheels showing a lot of detail. The background will be reasonably blurred although much sharper than the other images.

So what have you learned? The choice of shutter speed is very subjective depending on the type of image you want to create.

Varying your shutter speed gives different results depending on the final image you are trying to create. The key is to experiment and find out what each speed does under a variety of conditions. The choice is yours.

Do you want to learn more about photography in a digital world? I've just completed a brand new e-course delivered by e-mail. Cigarette smoking is another deterrent from naturally white teeth.

There are few home remedies for teeth whitening that work best for teeth stains. Bamboo powder, calcium carbonate, sodium chloride, and silica are very good removers of plaque and stains from the teeth.

Hydrogen peroxide is the most common and popular natural lightening agent. It can be combined with lemon juice, baking soda, baking powder etc. Lemon juice and strawberries may not be the best home remedies for teeth whitening.

They can cause an acidity which can weaken your teeth. They are natural whiteners but too much use of it can weaken your teeth. For best result, simply rub them directly on your teeth or mash into a paste. I'm not talking about hair, skin or eye color, but the tooth color.

You don't want to be in the yellow team, do you? I thought so So, the natural teeth color can be in a variety of shades; but, the shade that you practically have is worse, thanks to the cigarettes, the coffee, the cola, the red wine or even the cherries and blueberries that we are consummating.

But there are other reasons why our teeth are getting shady colors, like aging, accumulation of plaque, tartar deposits or even the over consumption of fluoride which leads to a "mottled" look of the teeth.

Of course there are more reasons why teeth are losing their original color like treatment with the antibiotic during childhood or trauma to the teeth which causes a brown, gray or black color

So, now that we're finished with mustering the reasons why teeth are getting "not so white", let's talk about how can we make them white? Dentistry has a specialized branch which takes care of the look of our teeth, called the cosmetic dentistry.

The cosmetic dentistry treatments are vary. Here are a few of the most popular treatments: we have the "tooth bleaching", or the simple teeth whitening, the Enamel shaping, which reshapes the contouring enamel of the tooth ,we have the bonding which helps with chipped or cracked teeth and the tooth veneers, those ultra-thin laminates that are affixed directly to the teeth.

The materials used by dentists in the past were gold or amalgam as fillings or for other restorations. Even then, some of these teeth were veneered in porcelain. Now, cosmetic dentistry uses porcelain for the entire dental work.

Porcelain has a look very much like the natural tooth. The bond to the underlying tooth is made with resin adhesives. For the teeth whitening through laser bleaching the only material needed is the hydrogen peroxide gel.

Anywhere you go, the dentist will use some product containing anywhere from 15% to 30% this substance. But, before you begin your teeth whitening treatment, the dentist will protect the soft tissues by placing a gel or a special shield.

He will also use a gel to isolate the gum areas. After that he applies the hydrogen peroxide to the teeth. The use of a laser light increases the whitening effect. Then you must rinse off the bleaching gel and repeat this procedure for a few times. See? it really isn't so hard and the result can bring only joy into our life.

Before you do a teeth whitening, make sure you don't have any white fillings. The thing with them is that they will remain less white after the teeth whitening, then the newly bleached teeth.

And another problem for those who want to go to a cosmetic dentistry, to perform a teeth whitening, is the after time. Can we eat, can we drink? Well yes, but there is a common side effect, the teeth sensitivity. This sensitivity worries us although for only 24 hours, so it's not that bad

Cosmetic dentistry can be an option only onceif we put some effort. Because the teeth whitening's effect can be maintained. This way, we also make a little money saving, by putting a little bit of effort.

We most follow a few simple steps, and we practically earn some money doing that So, for someone who just finished a session of teeth whitening at a cosmetic dentist, here are the rules to follow for keeping your new teeth white on for as much as you like First, use a whitening toothpaste; second, brush or rinse immediately after eating; third, use a straw to drink coffee, tea, colas and red wine and, last, only for the ladies use pink based lipstick.

So, finally, let's see what our options are(what cosmetic dentistry can do): if you have tooth-colored fillings, crowns, caps or bonding in your front teeth then bleaching, as a teeth whitening method is not really recommended.

These materials are keeping their color and not turn white as the teethSo their next option can be tooth veneers or bonding (also at the cosmetic dentistry).

The veneers are those porcelain or plastic pieces which are glued at the front of the teeth. They can be two variants for veneers: porcelain (indirect) veneers or composite (direct) veneers. At the other hand the cosmetic dentistry's bonding uses composite resin to recolor the smile

Besides the dental (in-office) whitening at the cosmetic dentistry it is used, like we said earlier, the home treatment for teeth whitening. Wowteeth whitening, without cosmetic dentistry, in the comfort of your home.

And the quality is the same with a cosmetic dentistry's teeth whitening. The first method is brush-on teeth whitening, and it is about letting it dry on our teeth and tah-dah in the morning they're white.

But attention, not doing this hole thing at the cosmetic dentistry has two flaws, if you get the teeth whitening formula wet even with saliva it becomes really easy rubbing off parts of the formula.

Second flaw is about one of it's ingredients, alcohol, which causes bad breath. Cosmetic dentistry's alternative method is the use of all kind of bleaching gels.

If you have the time and money, we suggest teeth whitening at the cosmetic dentistry. The home made "white" is more for keeping it.

Cosmetic dentistry is a good idea if you know how to look at it. Just like any big decision, getting your teeth whitening done requires a lot of thought, that is if you don't want to regret your choice. So, read more about it!

Digital Photography Tip - Which One To Follow

Itching to churn out photographic masterpieces? Then a digital camera is a handy and inexpensive aide to your photography cruises. Digital cameras combine a range of features to ensure that you capture the scenes and moments of life in all their stunning reality.

But to expound a popular myth, a frightfully expensive digital camera is not a guarantee to skillful digital photography. Remember the phrase about the sloppy workman who always blamed his tools! Let the tips on digital photography come to your rescue.

Tempting Tips to Dazzling Digital Photography

Seasoned digital photographers are unanimous on one thing: they honed their photography skills mostly by tinkering with the camera and taking a whole lot of trash shots in the beginning.

Thus after you have acquired your camera, fiddle with it to your heart's content and snap at anything and everything under the sun. Tips to increase your digital photography proficiency levels include the following:

- Flip through the instructor's manual and know your camera by heart. In particular, be aware of its potentials and limitations.

For instance, most digital cameras come equipped with different scene modes to complement varying settings. A thorough knowledge about them will help you to come up with the optimum results.

- Pack in a sizeable memory card into your camera. This will enable you to shoot at the camera's highest resolution and come up with top-notch pictures.

Also think of the logic, if you have paid through your nose to get a 8-megapixel camera why on earth should you be stingy about making it go all the way only for want of a voluminous memory card.

- Most tenderfoots with the digital camera have a hard time with keeping the camera still while shooting. The result is pictures where the Leaning Tower of Pisa looks upright while all other towers look inclined and about to topple over.

This is especially true when these amateur photographers are using their LCD for composing the photos. The best way to counter this is to take multiple shots with varying angles of a single scene. One is bound to turn out right. Practice will make you perfect.

- For acquainting yourself with the basics of lightning, you do not need to attend workshops and seminars.

Just remember that if the sun is behind the subject, the photograph will turn out to be a silhouette and if you intend to capture the shot with the subject facing the sun, be prepared for narrowed eyes and a little bit unnatural looking photograph.

An interesting variation would be rim lighting, wherein you can have the sun light up the hair of the subject from a side.

- Let not your flash shots be only flashes in the pan! Make it a habit to take good and discernible photographs in the flash mode and for this you need to stand a bit close to your subject when using the fill flash outdoors (most in-built flashes have a range of 10-feet or less). This way you can ensure an even exposure all the elements in the scene.

- Explore the Macro Mode and add a new, exhilarating dimension to your photographs. But as you maneuver this mode, it is important to remember that you are dealing with very shallow field depths.

So focus on the part of the object that you deem most significant and let the remaining parts go soft. Sit back and marvel at the result!

- Be an actual part of the picture you are taking. And for this you need to use the self-timer on the camera, which just happens to be the most slightly used feature of a digital camera.

A self-timer is also a great way of ensuring that there is no jerking of the camera while you zero in on the correct exposure parameter.

- Don't always go by the settings that come with the camera. You will be missing out on a lot of exciting and visually appealing openings.

For instance, the white balance setting is usually "auto", but try adjusting it to "cloudy" when taking shots out in the sun.

You will be amazed by the results, more precisely, the warm tones of the image. This is because the "auto" white balance mode leans on the "cool" side.

The road to National Geographic status photography is not easy. But these tips on digital photography will just give the impression that you have arrived on the scene.

Published At: Isnare Free Articles Directory http://www.isnare.com
Permanent Link: http://www.isnare.com/?aid=96532&ca=Arts+and+Crafts

Digital Photography: What Does It Mean?

Digital photography is very popular these days. If you have recently shifted from film cameras to digital photography, it is essential that you understand the various terms and abbreviations associated with it:

A PIXEL It is the smallest part of a digital image. Pixels are combined with millions of other pixels to form a photo image. The resolution of digital cameras is expressed in terms of pixels.

The total quantity of pixels in a photo image is the RESOLUTION. The quality of the picture becomes sharper and better with the increase in resolution; more pixels mean better the quality.

One million pixels make a MEGAPIXEL. A picture with three or four megapixels will have much better quality than a picture with just one.

DPI (dots per inch) is used to describe the quality of a printer or computer monitor. Laser printers have about 300 dpi resolution, while monitors only have 72. Photo quality inkjet printers have a dpi of at least 1200 dpi. Here again, more the dpi, better the quality.

MEGABYTE represents computer memory. One megabyte equals one million bytes of file storage capacity.

JPEG stands for joint photographic experts group. It represents a format for storing images in digital cameras. JPEG files can be displayed easily on the Internet and e-mailed.

The digital files of all digital cameras need to be stored on a MEMORY CARD. The sizes of these cards depend upon the amount of storage capacity required. For convenience, buy as big of a card as you can afford. This is one computer-related storage space you’ll use all of, routinely.

LCD is an acronym for liquid crystal display. Most digital cameras have this feature so that the photographer can check the scene before clicking, then review the picture after taking the photo.

Happy clicking!

Published At: Isnare Free Articles Directory http://www.isnare.com
Permanent Link: http://www.isnare.com/?aid=76793&ca=Computers+and+Technology

Basic Digital Photography for Scrapbookers: 4 Must-Know Tips

Taking photographs of your friends and family can be a lot more enjoyable if you follow some basic photography tips. These tips can keep your pictures looking professional and help you get the most use out of your camera.

Get Close to Your Subjects.
Most great photographs are taken up close. When you are taking pictures, don't be afraid to get close to your subject or use a telephoto lens.

Have you ever been to a professional photographer? Notice that they either get very, very close to their subjects or they use a large lens. Getting up close will give you some great shots.

Make Sure You Have Enough Light.
Even with a flash you need to be sure that your subjects are positioned with enough light in their faces.

Don't take a shot with the person's back to the sun. Make sure to stand with the sun either above you or off to the side, depending on the time of day. You need to be sure that your subject's face is filled with light, but not glare.

Learn to Compose Your Shot.
Often, good photographs have less to do with the hardware you have and more to do with how you set up the shot. The composition of a picture is the way that you choose to frame the subjects.

Most people's natural inclination is to put the subject of the photo smack dab in the middle of the frame. Unless you are shooting a large group of people, try using the rule of thirds to compose your shots.

To follow this rule, imagine that your frame is divided into nine squares , with two equally spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines.

Instead of putting your subject in the center, he or she should be on one of the middle intersecting points. This way the shot looks interesting and it will be more pleasing to the eye.

Reduce Camera Shake.
Many digital photographs are ruined by camera shake, which happens when the photographer isn't steady on his or her feet.

Before you point and shoot, you should have both of your feet planted on the ground. Hold your camera up with your arms at comfortable angles away from your body.

When you are ready to take the picture, be sure that you are lightly pressing down the shutter. When you poke the shutter down, you can jerk the camera down and lose your shot. Consider using a tripod to get complete control over the situation.

How to Use Infrared Digital Photography to Capture Dramatic Photos

The visible light your camera captures will be transformed to the invisible light of heat radiation when you begin using infrared digital photography.

Capturing your subject in the infrared spectrum of light, produces a rich beauty all its own. The eclectic images developed from the heat sources of your subject or landscape using an IR lens, will bring drama to your photographs.

Placing an IR lens on your camera can bring your photography to a new level. This lens captures heat radiation and with a little careful planning, can make your photographs more dramatic.

In order to get the striking photograph you are attempting, first you must think through the process.

What are you trying to accomplish? You should remember that instead of visible light you will be capturing light that cannot be seen with the human eye; just like radio waves, infrared light is invisible.

Living things, like leaves on a plant or tree, become very rich. People tend to take on a ghostly white or pallid tone. While the sky and water become extremely dark.

As in all aspects of photography, do your research and make sure you are using all the right accessories and settings which pertain to your camera.

Seek out the right filter that will give you the most accurate detailed appearance.

The direction your subject is facing or moving will give you an idea on the angle you should place your camera.

Your camera should be as still as possible because camera shake will knock your image out of focus, so using a tripod is essential, of course.

Lighting is another key factor to great digital photography. Lighting that is too dark can cause too much shadow. Lighting that is too bright can cause too much glare.

The best thing about digital photography is that you get to see your image as soon as you take it.

There is no need to wonder if you captured the image correctly, and having to wait until you get to the dark room to develop your film is a thing of the past. Your picture appears immediately. So if you don't like it, take another.

Something important to remember is that taking more pictures is better than not taking enough. Using Photoshop, you can bring more drama to your infrared digital photographs than ever before.

If your picture seems to have too much color, this can be fixed. A lot of professionals' jobs are done on the computer.

Another important factor is to check your owner's manual. The infrared lens and filters are not "one size fits all", so be informed.

Purchasing more accessories will be well worth your investment when you start producing the stunning prints you can get using infrared photography.

Be creative using your IR photography skills in every photograph you take. Practice with living and non-living subjects.

Take pictures of nature, landscapes and people; hone in on your natural talent to capture those remarkable shots that you, as well as others, will truly appreciate as a work of art.

If you want to learn even more about infrared digital photography, you'll love the brand new e-course I've created for you to help you start taking amazing pictures.

It's yours for free and is delivered straight to your email. Most people think that taking great pictures is simple, with autofocus, zoom and auto-flash these days. Technically, you can point your camera and snap, and you'll record the moment.

But if you want your pictures to truly be memorable and a keepsake for years to come, you'll have to apply some technique. This article will go over some simple, yet powerful photography techniques you can start applying today.

Rule of Thirds

Typically, the rule of thirds applies to shots that you're taking of nature or landscapes, where you'll be taking a picture of a single element at a time.

However, sometimes you'll notice that pictures of nature don't quite express the true beauty of what the photographer was probably trying to express.

The rule of thirds means that each photo you take has three distinct parts if you will. Let's suppose you want to take a shot of the lake that your family is spending vacation time.

One of the three elements is the lake, and since its blue, will typically blend in with the sky. So, when you take the shot, it still only has two elements. Adding a third element will make this photo really pop.

For example, when the sunset is starting, you'll get different contrast points in the photo, which will make the three elements work together to break up the blandness of just blue.

On the other hand, when you're taking a picture that has an overload of colors, such as a autumn trees, it's easy to lose interest because the focus of the shot has been lost in the mix of colors.

So, apply the same rule of thirds technique to this shot. Perhaps use the blue sky to your advantage, or maybe a natural landscape like a field, hill, or stream. This helps to break up the mix, and show off the true beauty of your photo.

Using Angles

One of the most commonly used techniques by professional photographers is using different angles. If you always shoot from the front of an object, you'll always get the same kind of shot.

After a while, the viewer of your photos or sometimes even you will lose interest, since the photos don't have much depth to them. You're merely documenting what you see.

By playing around with angles, you'll enhance your photos. So, try moving around for different unique shots. Move your camera, tilt it, or move it close to the ground.

For example, if you're taking a picture of a new sports car, try tilting the camera vertically and sideways to make things more interesting. Get close to the ground, and aim above you to capture the true effect of the car.

This will cause the viewer to think the car is bigger than it really is, and seem more majestic of a vehicle.

Overall, always try playing around with angles. Whether you're taking pictures of people or objects, or even nature, experiment and get creative. No one can take pictures like you, since you bring your own unique talent and creativity to the picture.

Get out and start playing with angels and remember the rule of thirds.

If you want to learn even more about a guide digital photography, you'll love the brand new e-course I've created for you to help you start taking amazing pictures.

It's yours for free and is delivered straight to your email. Macro digital photography is o much more.

Taking digital photography of macro, particularly abstract, is an incredibly stimulating art form.

One of the reasons why macro digital photography is so good because the objective is to get as much detail as you can.

And the subject is not often distinguishable. You can turn a basic household item into a brightly colored world filled with shapes, lines and form.

It allows the mind to take a break from categorizing everything and lets the imagination just enjoy the art form.

In macro digital photography, it’s very important to understand that you will be working with less light.

What tends to happen is that you have less light on a smaller surface than you do a larger surface.

This can lead to the need, in your digital macro photography, to adjust our F Stop to compensate for less light.

And not only that, but in digital photography macro but your lens so you can get the important sections of your macro subject and focus on a shallow depth of field.

Composition is everything in Macro digital photography. Due to the fact that you are working with an absence of defining elements you find yourself working with the tone, texture, shape and light of the subject.

To capture your lines, shapes, tones and texture well, make sure you have the right exposure.

This means that in all aspects of your digital macro photography you'll need to get the right macro lenses.

If you don’t have macro lenses and you wish to practice, I suggest grabbing a magnifying glass and seeing what things look like up close.

Keep in mind that this is not an effective long term photographic tool, but it does open your mind when you first start macro digital photography.

One tip I can give you for successful macro digital photography is to take "portions" of subjects up close.

Find a point in your macro digital photography that shows flowing lines, symmetry and a loving gentleness that you normally would not find at normal distance.

For example take the centre of a flower, such as a daisy.

You will notice that the centre of the daisy comes alive with a softness and fascination that can only be obtained by macro digital photography.

To practice your digital macro photography, take your magnifying glass and really look up close at sections of subjects that have lots of detail up close.

You can choose the grain of wood, clothing material, flowers and even colored objects such as semi precious stones.

You’ll find that subjects with very, very small fine detail are the best digital photography macro subjects. So get practicing!

By Amy Renfrey

If you want to create the most sharp, clear sensational digital pictures then go here http://www.digitalphotographysuccess.com/

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Amy_Renfrey

Practice Makes Perfect With Digital Photography

Like anything else in this world, you can never get better anything unless you work at it.

The saying that practice makes perfect is true about most any skill or trade, including digital photography.

The most experienced photographers will testify that they did not become excellent at their skill overnight.

It will vary from individual to individual, but for most people, they had to dedicate a lot of time to get very good at what they do.

If you're new to photography, there are some things that you should know to give you a head start on gaining the experience you need.

One of the trickiest parts about taking pictures is getting the light to work in your favor.

A sunny day can be your best friend or your worst enemy if you don't know how to utilize the light beneficially.

When taking pictures of people with the sun shining brightly, do not put them directly in front or behind the sun because that will only cause underexposure or cause them to squints respectively.

For most new photographers, working outside on an overcast day is optimal because the sun is not shining brightly but the day is not dark enough yet either.

The other tricky part is working with the flash. When pictures are taken during the night, you will often see that people's faces are very bright.

Evaluate how dark the area is and if there is any lighting, and take your pictures accordingly.

Try not to get too close to your subject because the end result will turn out overexposed.

As in both scenarios mentioned, the best lighting to work with is natural lighting, but experimenting with your camera enough will be the only thing that will help you get the experience with the different types of lighting.

Every camera is different, and you need to examine the different modes that come standard on most digital cameras being released to the public.

These cameras will have scene modes that work differently in contrasting situations.

A scene mode that is meant to be used at night will appropriate the flash in a different way than a scene mode would in a portrait setting.

Work on your picture-taking technique and experiment. Don't be afraid to use your creativity because there is no predetermined method of picture taking.

It's just as important to get familiarized with your camera as it is to take many photos in different ways.

Get up close and personal with your subject, tilt your camera at a different angle, or put your subject off to the side so it will appear on the side of the photo and not in the center. Get creative and practice, and you, too, shall learn to take excellent photos in time.

Aydan Corkern is a writer, HD enthusiast, and promoter of outdoor antenna and indoor antenna

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Aydan_Corkern

Learn Digital Photography - How to Become a Good Wedding Photographer

As you can see, wedding marks anew chapter in a couples life and many are happy to hire a professional wedding photographer to capture the moments on photographs. How can you be good in wedding photography then?

1. Enthusiast or professional

Since you are building your career as a professional photographer, you are different from the photography enthusiast.

You are supposed to see the best side of the couple and capture the essence of the couple without them posing for you.

As a professional wedding photographer, you too are supposed to be well prepared for the ceremony.

You ought to bring enough memory sticks and battery packs. Telling the couple that you forgot your equipments is not a good reason especially when your reputation is on the line.

2. Equipment

Imagine your photographer carrying a compact digital camera during your wedding and told you that he is there for the job. He doesn't sound convincing. Does he?

So, having a DSLR camera does help to improve your image as a wedding photographer. Remember, you are a professional instead of a photography enthusiast.

So, be professional and invest into something professional.

3. Black and white

Some thought that black and white photography is outdated but little do they know that black and white makes marvelous wedding pictures.

Some photographers even belief that black and white wedding pictures are more classical and more long lasting.

So, when you are involve in wedding photography, give black and white a chance and have a look into it.

You can show the couple some of your pictures in color and monotone. Let them make their decision. After all it is their wedding and not yours.

4. Your personality

As a professional photographer, you are supposed to provide your professional point of view to the couple instead of shoving what you like down the couple's throat.

You might be a fanatic for black and white photography but the couple might feel that wedding is supposed to be colorful. You will spoil the couple's mood when you insisted on your way.

So, before you start the job, have a short discussion with them.

Let the couple know what a person you are and at the same time you can ask them what they are looking for in the wedding pictures.

Once the mutual understanding has been established, satisfying the clients and your need will be easy.

Do you enjoy taking photos? These two scientist, never thought that CCD will be extensively used in digital cameras, that time they invented the CCD to develop the first solid-state video camera (in 1970) which could give sharp images which was enough to be used in television broadcast (1975).the two scientists didn't plan it this way.

1.Introduction of First Digital Camera - Mavica

Since the above invention world had to wait around five years to see breakthrough in digital photography.

In year 1981, world renown Sony Corporation introduced the first prototype digital camera which was called Mavica (Magnetic Video Camera).

This new camera called Mavica was an electronically operated still camera with two CCD chips, It recorded images using magnetic impulses on to a compact two-inch diameter still-video floppy disk.

However the first digital cameras for mass market were available in mid nineties.

It could be hooked to a computer through a serial port cable. For example, the cameras which came out with such facilities were Apple Quick Take 100 camera (February 17, 1994) worked with a home computer via a serial cable.

The other similar digital models were introduced to the market by Kodak (DC40 camera in March 28, 1995), Casio ( Casio QV-11with LCD monitor in late 1995), and Sony ( Cyber-Shot Digicam in 1996).

2. Digital Image Software and Printers

Although there were several manufacturers came out with different types of digital cameras, none was so popular as Kodaks DC40 digital camera which produced for mass markets.

Later Microsoft and Kinkos both collaborated with Kodak to introduce the digital image-producing software workstations and corner shops.

The consumers were able to use these software and corner outlets to develop photo CDs and photographs as well as adding digital images to the documents.

Similarly, IBM worked with Kodak introducing the internet-based network image exchange.

At the same time, Hewlett-Packard was the pioneering company to make the first color inkjet printers that helped consumers to print good quality images which was an impetus to the popularizing the digital photography.

3.True Digital Camera

In 1988, Fuji developed the true digital camera, DS-1P which could record images in the form of computerized file.

Other unique feature of this camera was its internal memory chip with a capacity of 16 MB while using a battering to store.

However, it was noted that this Fuji camera never marketed in the United States or not even in Japan.

As such, we can reasonably assume that the first commercially produced digital camera was Logitech Fotoman (in 1990) which was also called as Dycam Model-1.

This camera used a CCD sensor which stored images digitally and later cold be transferred to Personal Computer (PC).

The background or evolvement of digital photography stress that that the future is the digital photography.

This is already proven as the recent market surveys indicate that in year 2006, approximately 35 billion images were printed or stored in Western Europe.

Alex Don has been writing about photography practices for http://reshade.com

Reshade works in the field of online picture processing applications providing a free online image resizer tool. However, things often go beyond what you want.

uckily with the presence of digital photography, you have more control over your picture. At least now you can look at your picture immediately on the LCD screen to see whether you are satisfied with your shot.

Indoor and outdoor

Imagine that you are taking picture of a birthday girl blowing the candle. Often the candles are your only light source.

When this happens, you will want to increase the ISO setting and slow down the shutter speed (if you are using a compact digital camera, this will be done automatically) of your camera so that more light can be pass into the camera.

However, when you slow down the shutter speed, your camera is more sensitive to movement and there will be high chances that your pictures will appear 'shaken'.

To avoid that, you can either turn on the flash or mount your camera on a tripod. And if your camera comes with the anti-handshake feature, remember to turn that on when you are shooting under low light condition.

When you are taking picture outdoor in a bright sunny day, you can keep the setting as normal and your picture will still look good. The only thing you need to remember is to never shoot your picture with the sun in front of you as that will make your subject looks dark.

Glare

Beside that, your picture will be very glaring when you put the sun in front of your camera. It is like looking into a big spotlight.

Sometimes you can also see this glaring problem when your subject reflects off the flash. Imagine that you flashed on a recently polished silver spoon. The flash will bounce back from the silver surface creating glare in your picture.

What you can do is to either disperse your flash or step further from your subject and zoom in to it.

Framing

Framing is how you make the composition for your shot. When you are framing your picture, work your way without chopping any part of your subject.

When you see that you can't fit your subject into the frame, just take a few steps back or simply use a wide angle lens.

And when you are shooting with background that you can't exclude, you can remove it later with software for photo editing or you can create shallow depth of field and blurred the background.

Do you enjoy taking photos? They can also be challenging, especially when using a new digital camera.

With a little preparation you will be able to create beautiful digital landscape photos.

The first tip is to be prepared. Carry a tripod as well as extra memory and batteries to allow you to keep shooting.

Tripods will eliminate camera shake in your photos, which is particularly noticeable when you are shooting large vistas.

You will also want to find a good telephoto and wide-angle lens for landscapes. Telephoto can be used to zoom in on interesting characteristics of the environment, while you would use the wide-angle to give a panoramic feel to your pictures.

The key to good shots outdoors is the light. The best time to shoot landscapes is early in the morning as the sun is coming up, or during dusk.

This way the colours don't become washed out in the harsh mid-day sunlight and shadows tend to have more character.

Don't lose yourself in the background. Find an interesting element to focus on. This will give your pictures more character as ensure that the scale of your landscape is not lost on viewers.

The foreground subject could be as simple as a person, or a unique rock outcropping.

Keep your photos off-centred. Referred to as the Rule of Thirds, you want to invasion the scene as being cut into three sections.

Aim slightly off centre, either along the horizontal or vertical axes, to give your pictures depth and a look of professionalism.

Find ways to guide your audience to the main feature you want to highlight. You can use anything that resembles a line running in the direction you want people to look in.

It could be a river, a road, or kids running through a field, whatever. This again adds depth and scale to your photo, as well as giving it "life."

Play with black and white. Never before has it been possible for a photographer to seamlessly switch from colour to black and white photography.

What used to necessitate several cameras is now as simple as the push of a button. Black and white produces drastic contrasts between light and dark and can make even a dull seeming picture more spellbinding.

Get more help on taking digital photography landscapes and other ways to get the best from your digital camera.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Geoff_White

Digital Photography For Beginners - What You Need to Know

Digital photography can be a matter of taking quick snapshots or it can become a hobby which allows you to express yourself.

For beginners just starting out in digital photography there are some things to be considered. What type of camera do you need, what sort of photos would you like to take and what your budget is.

Choosing the Right Camera
There are many digital cameras on the market today and it can be hard to decide which is the right choice for you.

If you're mainly interested in taking snapshots, then you should pick a point and click style camera. If you're interested in more advanced photography or want to be able to switch lens you would want to look into a DSLR camera.

You should look for a minimum of 8 megapixels. Once you have narrowed down the type of camera you want, read product reviews to decide which model best suits your needs.

Play with the Settings
A lot of new photographers are intimidated by all the options that a digital camera presents.

Play with them, push the buttons and figure out what it does. You will not "break" the camera, at worst if you can't figure out how to return to the default settings you can just pull the batteries out.

What seems daunting to the novice is the main advantage of digital photography. Digital cameras, and photo editing software, allow even the most inexperienced photographer to create masterpieces.

You can seamlessly switch from black and white to colour photography. You can instantly review photos and discard pictures that you don't like. This gives you a lot of freedom to learn how to take photographs.

Once you have begun to understand how your camera works, get out and take pictures. Take your camera with you and snap at anything that catches your attention. As with anything, practice will make you better. And remember to have fun with it.

Photo Composition Basics
Try to avoid keeping your subjects centered. This creates a dull picture. Instead try to imagine a tic-tac-toe board over the scene and aim so that the subject is slightly off-center.

Doing this gives your composition a sleeker appearance and draws the viewer's eyes into your image.

Be conscious of your fore-ground and mid-ground as well as the background. Try to take pictures of landscapes with someone standing in front of the backdrop.

Play with different zoom levels to find out what you like in photos.

To get more help on digital photography for beginners just click here.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Geoff_White

10 Simple Digital Photography Techniques by JR Lang

Digital photography has revolutionized picture taking, no more old school film and driving to the drug store and waiting for film to develop. Digital cameras allow the photographer the luxury of concentrating on taking pictures and simply delete away those that are not up to standards.

Prior to looking at effective digital photography techniques, it is important to understand the difference between the old school film cameras and the new digital technology.

Same as the old school film SLR (single reflex lens) cameras, digital SLR or DSLR (digital single reflex lens) camera use lenses and mirror.

But instead of a film that records the image, a DSLR camera uses light sensor chips and digital memory. In other words, a DSLR camera is the computerized version of the traditional SLR camera.

Using these simple and effective digital photography techniques can aid those taking photographs with a DSLR cameras in capturing the best images using the new art of digital photography.

10 Digital Photography Techniques

1. Probably the greatest feature of digital cameras is the fabulous LCD screen that allows for real time preview of pictures as you take them.

One of the best and most practical digital photography techniques is to make sure to utilize the LCD to its fullest potential by previewing each each picture and making sure it is perfect, if it's not just click delete it and re shoot.

2. Try to get a digital camera with image stabilization.

If you don't have that feature then here is a digital photography technique to get clearer pictures without any blur. Hold your hand steady when taking pictures to prevent it from shaking and moving.

Also, it is better to hold your eye up to the optical viewfinder when taking pictures, rather than the electronic viewfinder. This helps you to see exactly what your capturing and also helps to keep the camera steady when taking pictures.

3. Flash seems to be a challenge for most beginner photographers. Most flash technology can only light up a up a subject within an average of 10 to 15 feet. Make sure to move in closer, or add more light to the subject area.

4. Because digital cameras can take slightly longer to focus than film cameras, a good digital photography tip to avoid blurry and out-of-focus shots is to half-depress the shutter button until the camera has had time to lock the focus, and then completely press the button to take the actual shot.

5. The law of optics remains the same whether using new digital photography technology or an old camera.

For instance, if the sun is behind an image, the picture will be silhouette. If light is in front of the image, the picture will appear squint.

6. Another digital photography technique is when using a polarizer, be sure that the source of light is perpendicular to the object. ]

If you do not have polarizing filter capability then a good digital photography technique is to use a quality pair of sunglasses.

Place the sunglasses as close to the camera lens as possible, then check their position in the LCD viewfinder to make sure you don't have the the sunglasses rims in the picture.

7. Instead of film, digital photography uses memory cards to save shots. A good digital photography technique that can prevent lots of regret is to always have back up memory with you.

There is nothing worse than missing that great shot because there is no more storage available in your camera.

8. A good digital photography technique for shooting bright landscapes and outdoor portraits is to change your white balance setting from auto to cloudy, this will yield brighter and clearer shots.

This will give a warming filter on your camera and increases the reds and yellows resulting in richer and brighter pictures.

9. Zoom in to emphasize a certain asset or characteristic of the subject being captured. Avoid getting too large of a focus shot, evaluate what you want to capture and focus in on that image, avoiding backgrounds like buildings and landscape, this will give you clearer and better pictures of the object you want.

10. Practice is probably the best tip. The best digital photography technique is to practice using your camera. Get to know it and all the controls and what they do. Take lots of pictures and analyze what works best with your camera and soon you will be an expert with your own list of digital photography techniques.

Digital cameras have really simplified photography and made picture taking so much more mobile and convenient. And employing some of these digital photography techniques will deliver the best pictures of life's memories.

About the Author
Browse large selection of cheap digital cameras and accessories at: Cheap Digital Cameras. It is becoming more important than ever that people find a way to make an extra income at home.

Many online business opportunities usually make a lot of money for the owners of the site, but it can be very difficult for anyone else to make a part time income. As a photographer, you will be your own boss.

You will have a great opportunity to make a real income. And with so many people losing their jobs, having a way to make an income at home is can be a true blessing

You can make an excellent at home with your digital camera and shooting weddings on weekends. If you enjoy taking pictures and sharing them with friends and family, then you might consider taking wedding photos on weekends.

Wedding photography can be a very lucrative part time or full time career. In the United State alone, the Wedding Photography industry accounts for approx., $5 Billion per year. That's a very large market.

And with some know how and a decent digital camera, you can be a part of this industry. All you need is a course that includes business forms, technical discussions, sample ads and business cards, and even tips on using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Apple's Aperture.

In this article, I will explain some technical considerations of picture taking. Available light photography and many people often have questions about the aperture and how to use it effectively.

Available light photography is pretty much as the term says. You take photos using just the available light in the scene. You do not use the flash on the camera or other portable light sources.

Reflectors can allow you to reflect the natural light where you need it to remove hard shadows and give a more pleasing effect in the final image. In my blog, the address is below in the resource box, you will see some sample photos, including a scene from a wedding which does not use a flash.

If you look carefully at the photo, you will notice some very obvious things about the light. Overall, the light is very even right across the whole image, including the background of the image.

This is because the light is bouncing off the walls of the church and lighting the whole scene. A flash on the other hand, will only light a small part of the scene, usually just the bride.

The problem with flash is that it will product a lot of hard shadows both on the bride and dress, and also on the background. With flash, you would normally see a big shadow of the bride on the wall in the background. Available light allows you to eliminate most of the harsh shadows that can ruin a normal photo. Also, the shadows on the brides face are also very soft.

The biggest problem with available light photography is the shutter speed. Usually this will be relatively long, so the cahnce of spoiling the image due to movement, either from the subject or the photographer, is quite big.

One should always use a tripod in this situation. So, you need to let people know that this is a special lighting effect and that they need to stay very still for the exposure.

The image shown in the blog, had a shutter speed of a quarter of a second. Photographically speaking, that is a long time. Exposures under normal conditions, will be using a fairly fast shutter speed so that the movement of the subject will be frozen to give a nice sharp image and a pleasing photo as a result.

We need to consider two things to when using available light to get correct exposures. One is, as we mentioned, the shutter speed, and the other of course, is the aperture.

Lets take a look at how a correct exposure works. The shutter speed, in a wedding for instance, will freeze the movement of the subjects, so that the images appear sharp and pleasing to the eye.

So, the shutter speed determines how long the light affects the sensor on the camera, and the aperture affects how much light hits the sensor. So the combination of how much light hits the sensor for how long determines by the shutter speed, gives us a correct exposure.

The secondary effects of the shutter speed is the amount of movement shown on the image. A fast shutter speed will show no movement, and a slow shutter speed will cause a blur of the image, either from the movement of the subject or by not holding the camera perfectly steady.

The secondary effect of the aperture is how much of the image is in sharp focus. With either shutter speed or aperture, a lot of people get confused about the numbers involved. The aperture shown on a camera lens is usually shown as f5.6 or f8 etc.

The confusing part for many photographers, is that the larger the f number, the smaller the lens opening. But do not let the numbers confuse you. The numbers are only written this way because of space constraints.

The number is really a fraction, and every number technically should be written with a one on top of the number. So, f8 is really f and 1 over 8. And f16 is really f 1 over 16, or a sixteenth. What this means is that each stop downs, halves the amount of light coming through the lens.

The effect of closing down the aperture this way, is that the smaller the aperture, the larger the depth of field. In other words, the smaller the aperture, more of the image will appear in focus.

So, when shooting portraits, we usually want a shallow depth of field, so that the background does not affect the appearance of the subject. But as we adjust the aperture, by letting more or less light reach the sensor, we have to adjust the shutter speed to allow the light to be on the sensor for a longer or shorter period to make a correct exposure.

About the Author
Tom began his career, like many photographers, by shooting weddings part time. Some people can literally take fabulous photographs without really trying, but the majority of us need whatever help we can get to make our photographs look professional.

It may appear daunting to think that you can, quite easily take on board a few of the professional photographers digital photography tips and hints to turn your photographs into those of a pro. The truth is, you can and it does not take much.

Lets Take a Look at Some of the Main Digital Photography Tips and Hints:

Portraits

The key to taking better portrait photographs and the number one digital photography tips and hints is that of keeping things simple. You do however need to plan what you are doing.
If you are going to take a photograph of a couple as a portrait, don't just get them to face the camera and hope for the best. Try to get them to look at each other, or get one to give the other a 'playful' kiss on the cheek.

This also applies to family portraits. One of the best digital photography tips and hints is to have one of the parents swinging their child above their head in a playful manner. Or try mom and dad to hold the child's hand as they walk towards you. These tips and hints will ensure that the photograph appears natural and will produce excellent results.

Other recognized digital photography tips and hints are to get your 'subjects' out of the somewhat drab studio and use different and natural settings. If they have a pet dog or cat, get them to hold it or include it in the photograph. If they have just passed their driving license, get them to stand in front of their car with their new license.

Digital photography tips and hints for Landscapes
If you are like me and really enjoy taking pictures when you're on vacation or traveling, you may wonder how to make these professional landscape photographs. There are some very quick and easy ways to do this.

First, take a closer look at what you are about to take a photograph of before you take the picture. One of the best digital photography tips and hints is to look at the colors. If it is a bright blue lake against a blue sky, then there may be too much blue! Wait just a short while, or come back when the sun is about to set and snap a photo of the sunset against the blue lake
Good digital photography tips and hints for landscapes and any other type of photographs include being aware of how the same color is going to actually translate on a photo, regardless of how breathtaking it may be in person.

If you are going to take a photo of the autumn foliage, avoid a picture of just a bunch of trees all at the same height. Again, it will probably result in just a jumble of all the same colors. Adjust your angle so as to get a hill or part of a field in the picture so as to break up all that color.

Basic Digital photography tips and hints
Remember to always try different angles when taking your photos. It may be your only chance to capture that picture, so make it your best. The top digital photography tips and hints are to:
Move your main subject to the right or to the left in order to break up the monotony of a straight shot.

Always be aware of the lighting around your subject as well; try it from behind, above, or below in order to get the best pose and shot.

Take action now and go to Photography Tips to find out how. You won't want to miss this one.
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Peter_Ford

Beginning Photography Tips, A Few Basic Tips For Taking Digital Photography

My first tip for taking digital photography for anyone whether they are beginning, or have some degree of experience is “don’t be frightened of your camera”. Get used to handling your camera so that you feel comfortable with it. Make sure you know where all the controls are, and familiarise yourself with their functions. This is one of the basic beginning photography tips that often gets overlooked as it is such an obvious one.

Once you are comfortable handling your digital camera and have learnt how to use all the controls and functions, my next tip for taking digital photography is to take lots and lots of pictures. The beauty of digital photography is that you do not need to keep every picture that you take.

You are not paying for a long processing sequence like you would be if you were using a camera that uses rolls of film, so you can be a lot more extravagant when it comes to taking pictures. Plus you may just take a prize winning photo purely by chance, and any photos you don’t want you can simply delete.

Another of the basic beginning photography tips that people often forget is to hold the camera steady. Again this may sound pretty obvious but it’s surprising just how many of us forget this simple little tip when we rush to get a good photo.

It is important to actually practice holding the camera so that you automatically steady it for every picture that you take. How often have you seen the chance of a great picture only to rush it and ruin the shot? It’s far better to get one or two great pictures than dozens of blurred or poor quality ones.

My next tip is to always make sure that you have enough memory capacity on your digital camera. There is nothing worse than coming across something that would make a great picture only to find that you have no more room on your camera.

Get into the habit of going through the photos stored on your camera on a regular basis, and deleting the ones you don’t want, and downloading and storing the ones you do want onto your computer, or have them printed off. Also buy a second card for your camera so that you always have a spare one with you just in case you need it.

Once you have got this far you should have loads of photos that you have taken, now is the time to study these and see if there is room for improvement. Maybe some of them are still coming out slightly blurred, so you will need to pay attention to your focusing. Remember that a digital camera has a tendency to take a little longer to focus when compared to a camera that uses roll film.

Maybe you are not happy with the lighting on some of your pictures, so try practising using the flash. The flash on a camera is not only designed to be used when taking photos indoors, it is also great for getting good sharp pictures outside as well, especially if the subject is in shade or if the natural light is low, like in the late evening.

I suppose that one of the most important beginning photography tips that I can give you is to “get out there and have some fun with your camera”. Take loads of photos and practice as you go. Use your camera as often and as much as you can. My last little tip would to be to get hold of a good book on digital photography, this way you will get all the tips for taking digital photography and learn all the usual mistakes to avoid right from the start.

About the Author
Click here for great beginning photography tips http://www.buytryreview.com/recommends/photomastery

Digital Photography Class - Cracking The Photography Code

Don't roll up your eyes and groan at the mere mention of "class". Not all classes are as bad as those in your school and college were. In fact, a digital photography class promises bounties of fun and it is guaranteed that it will be one class of your lifetime, which you would not want to skip at any cost.

The soaring popularity of digital photography has seen digital photography schools springing up in almost every nook and cranny of your locality. So, which one to enroll to ensure your money's worth?

Any good digital photography school worth it's salt will offer intensive training and impart comprehensive knowledge in almost all the aspects of digital photography. And this also includes enlightening you on the internal mechanism of a digital camera. You can expect there will be no shortcuts either.

Your digital photography class will start out with an introductory session that will give you an overview of the camera setup and what digital photography is all about. You will be trained on the functions and settings of your camera so that after the completion of the course you will know your camera like the palm of your hand and will be better able to appreciate the scope of digital photography.

Being well versed in the parts and workings of a digital camera ensures that when you go to buy one for yourself, you can make the right choice.

Digital photography classes, as a principle, concentrate on teaching you the manual mode of photography. This is because the hallmark of a great photographer is definitely his skills in wielding control over how his photographs turn out. And wielding control entails that you do not let the camera decide when the flash should be used or being spot on with the focus and exposure settings without the intervention of the camera's in-built scene modes.

There are many digital photography classes that arrange field trips for its students. And you will surely agree that a hands-on experience in outdoor shooting is actually far more beneficial than a theory class. Besides, a few bouts of outdoor filming will also ensure that your lighting issues are sorted out. Thus, the nitty-gritty of lighting like using filters to tone down the tints of a photo taken in the harsh midday sun or the details of night photography are best appreciated when tried first hand.

A stint at a digital photography class will hone your photographic skills manifold times with in-depth training in composition and blending the rules of traditional photography with the digital photography mode. The fine points of filming in different settings and churning out optimum results should also be a part of the curriculum.

Digital photography classes are particular about details. Therefore, you will not be stopping at filming lessons only. You will be taken through the editing and processing of digital photographs too. You will be taught the ways and means of accessing the images stored in the camera's memory cards and the PC editing tweaks that will transform even the drabbest image into an enchanting piece of art.
